Some one sent me these facts about UK Consumer Plc recently. They do not make a pleasant reading. But here they are anyway. Lets us see if you spot some BMV opportunities?
- 14,000 properties were taken into possession in the first six months of 2007. This translates into 77 repossessions every day.
- 26,956 individuals were declared insolvent in the second quarter of this year alone (Apr-June) in England & Wales. This includes bankruptcies or IVAs.
- 8.2m British adults are in serious debt. This makes one in every 5 people you see on local high street. Over two million British consumers cannot quantify how much debt they’re in.
- More consumer debt related CCJs were issued in the first three months of the year – the highest quarterly total since the summer of 1997.
- More than 8.3 million holidaymakers get into debt to fund their summer break. One in 6 are relying on bank overdrafts and one in 10 take on unsecured personal loans for this.
